Our 3-day journey takes you deeper into Ha Giang, combining its dramatic mountain landscapes with meaningful encounters with the people who call them home.

Travel from peaceful villages and valleys around Quan Ba to the highlands of Dong Van, stopping along the way to meet local communities, discover traditional crafts, share local food, and experience everyday life in the mountains.

With more time on the road, you’ll see more of Ha Giang while still traveling at a pace that leaves room for genuine local experiences.

Tour Plan

Morning

  • 8:00 AM: Meet your guide and begin your journey into the Dong Van Karst Plateau.
  • Stop at Bac Sum Pass, the gateway to the Ha Giang Loop, famous for its winding mountain roads and panoramic views.
  • Continue via Quyet Tien to Ban Thang Village, a peaceful valley home to the Bo Y ethnic community and traditional rice farming.
  • Experience authentic village life through hands-on cultural activities:
    • Make traditional Bánh Dày (sticky rice cake)
    • Learn how local corn wine is brewed and enjoy a tasting
    • Harvest seasonal vegetables (depending on the season)
    • Relax in the natural stream
    • Enjoy traditional mountain tea with your hosts

Lunch

  • Enjoy a home-cooked lunch with a local family in Ban Thang Village.

Afternoon

  • Travel to Poje Village in Quan Ba.
  • Join a Traditional Indigo Dyeing Workshop, where you'll discover one of the oldest textile traditions in Northern Vietnam.

Evening

  • Check in at a Handpicked local accommodations in Nam Dam Village.
  • Optional Dao Herbal Bath for relaxation (150,000 VND per person).
  • Dinner featuring traditional local cuisine.
  • Experience the Dao Cap Sac Ceremony, an important coming-of-age ritual of the Dao people.
  • Overnight in Nam Dam.

Morning

  • Check out after breakfast.
  • Enjoy a traditional breakfast in Trang Kim featuring handmade Pho, a local specialty, and learn how fresh Pho noodles are made.
  • Continue along the Dong Van Karst Plateau, stopping at:
    • Tham Ma Pass
    • Moon Rock Valley
    • Vuong Family Palace (H'Mong King's Palace)

Lunch

  • Lunch in Sa Phin.

Afternoon

Choose one of the following cultural destinations:

  • Lo Lo Chai Village, a popular cultural village at the foot of Lung Cu Flag Tower. It welcomes many visitors and has a lively atmosphere.
  • Then Pa Village, an authentic and peaceful village that is far less crowded than Lo Lo Chai. It has preserved its traditional homes and the quiet rhythm of local life.

Evening

  • Dinner at a local restaurant featuring regional cuisine.
  • Enjoy free time to explore Dong Van Old Quarter, where you can sample local street food such as sweet rice dumplings, tofu pudding, grilled specialties, and seasonal snacks.
  • Overnight in Dong Van.

Morning

  • Breakfast buffet at the hotel.
  • Travel along the famous Happiness Road.
  • Stop at the breathtaking Ma Pi Leng Pass, one of Vietnam's most spectacular mountain roads.
  • Enjoy a scenic boat trip on the Nho Que River, surrounded by dramatic limestone cliffs.

Lunch

  • Lunch in Pa Vi Village.

Afternoon

  • Begin the return journey to Ha Giang.
  • Stop at the iconic M-shaped Curve for panoramic views.
  • Enjoy a relaxing afternoon tea in Quan Ba before continuing to Ha Giang City.
  • Arrive in Ha Giang around 5:00 - 7PM, where your guide will bid you farewell and conclude the journey.

No. This tour is run by car, and a local driver handles the whole route for you. If you would rather ride, contact our team and we will arrange an Easy Rider option.

Night sleeper buses run daily from Hanoi to Ha Giang City and arrive early in the morning, before the tour starts. Tell us your arrival plan when you book and we will confirm the pick-up point.

Layers. Mornings on the plateau are cool even in summer. Bring long trousers, closed shoes, a light waterproof, sunscreen and a small day bag. Large luggage can stay at our office.

Yes. The route is covered by car, so the pace is comfortable for families and for travellers who prefer not to ride. Tell us the ages in your group and we will adjust the day plan.

Yes. Let us know in your booking notes and we will pass it to each homestay and restaurant before you arrive. The more notice you give us, the better we can prepare.
